Third Party Products
The third-party products used by the Remote File Server must be updated with each Maintenance Release or Critical Patch Set (if available). This update is done using the CCsInstallerBndle.zip created during the update to the master site. There are two options to update the third-party products used by the Remote File Server, depending on the original installation method for the Remote File Server:
Updating third party products when the Configure to an existing local installation option was used for the Remote File Server.
Updating third party products when the Install and Configure option was used for the Remote File Server.
Updating Third Party Products When the Remote File Server has Been Configured to an Existing Local Installation
When the Configure to an Existing local installation option was used to install a Remote File Server, use the following procedure to update your third party products:
1. Ensure that the method server and PTC HTTP Server are not running.
2. Launch the Product Solution Installer (PSI) from one of the following locations:
https://www.ptc.com/appserver/cs/software_update/swupdate.jsp
From the Critical Patch Set bundle.
*
The PTC Windchill Service Pack, PTC Windchill Third Party Software, and Java Development Kit (JDK) for PTC Windchill must be present in the same staging folder where PSI is launched for the update to complete.
3. From the Update Existing Installation panel select either Install Maintenance Release or Install Critical Patch Set, depending on the type of update you have chosen.
You must also update Embedded Servlet Engine on the Remote File Server. Embedded Servlet Engine is a Windchill component that is installed in the Remote File Server’s installation load point. To update Embedded Servlet Engine use the following procedure:
1. Ensure that the method server and PTC HTTP Server are not running.
2. On the master site, navigate to Site > Utilities > File Server Administration.
3. Download the most recently listed CCsInstallerBndle.zip file. This file is created during the update to the master site.
*
Upon extracting the CCsInstallerBndle.zip file, ensure that no PTC Windchill Service Pack CD is present in the same staging folder where the installer is launched for the update to complete.
4. Launch the Product Solution Installer (PSI) from CCsInstallerBndle.zip file and select Update Existing Installation.
