Selecting Parts to Compare
The Select Parts To Compare action in the Manufacturing Product Structure Explorer can be used to create a report that details discrepancies and inconsistencies between upstream and downstream BOMs.
To select and compare parts:
1. From the navigation pane of the Manufacturing Product Structure Explorer, select the part occurrence, usage, or iteration that you would like to compare. Multiple parts can be selected.

You can also select parts from the Upstream Equivalent Parts table or the Downstream Equivalent Parts table, on the Equivalent Parts tab.
2. Click the View menu.
3. Click Compare to Downstream Report or Compare to Upstream Report.

You can also select parts from the Upstream Equivalent Parts table or the Downstream Equivalent Parts table, on the Equivalent Parts tab, then click the compare to upstream or downstream icon .
The Select Parts To Compare dialog box appears, with the selected parts displayed in their appropriate table, either as upstream parts, or downstream parts. The equivalent upstream or downstream parts are displayed in the other table.
4. Use the Add or Remove buttons to modify the parts to be compared and/or use the Show Equivalent button to display the equivalent part of the selected part.
5. Use the Edit Filter buttons to modify configuration specifications used to obtain and display part information.
6. Click the Compare button to view the Equivalence Comparison Report.
