Creo Illustrate is supported with Windchill in an integrated mode. You can manage Creo Illustrate (.c3di) files in this mode. This topic provides an overview of how .c3di files are translated by the Translation Management functionality of Windchill Service Information Manager. Service Information Manager supports .c3di files directly or the published version of the graphic file called Creo View (.pvz) files in the following ways:

When you define the localization settings of a .c3di file in Creo Illustrate, an *.xliff file is created with the text strings from the illustration. These strings could be in the form of annotations, attributes, or callouts in an illustration or textual content from the procedure of a Creo Illustrate sequence. Multiple files are also supported, one for each target language, such as de.xlf for German and fr.xlf for French. The .xliff files are saved in the illustration’s .c3di file.

When you check in a .c3di file to Windchill, the .xliff file is created as a separate dynamic document. The Service Information Manager includes the .xliff in the translation packages during the translation process. The languages in which the file is translated is determined by the Service Information Manager translation process rather than by the settings in Creo Illustrate. When Creo Illustrate publishes the illustration to a .pvz viewable file, the translated .xliff files are included in the .pvz file.

On the application user interface, the Translated-Not In Viewable status in the Translation Content table provides information on the translation status of .xliff files generated from a .c3di file.
