Browser Locale Settings and Translated Text Display
When translated text attributes are added to attribute layouts and table views, the user’s browser locale settings determine which values to display for the translated text attributes:
If the user’s browser locale matches a target language, then the translated text value is displayed.
If the user’s browser locale matches a target language, but there is no translated text value present for the target language, the master text (the value of the source text attribute) is displayed.
If the user’s browser locale matches the source language of the source text attribute, then the master text (the value of the source text attribute) is displayed.
If the user’s browser locale does not match the source language of the source text attribute or any target language, then the translated text attribute displays the master text (the value of the source text attribute).
Administrators should communicate to the users how to set their browser locale for optimal display of the translated text attribute content.
For information on language setup, see Setting Up Languages. For information on attribute layouts and table views, refer to Adding Translated Text Attributes to Attribute Layouts and Adding Translated Text Attributes to Table Views.
