Panning, Zooming, and Finding Objects in the Structure
Large structures of related objects can extend beyond the viewing area available in Relationship Explorer. Use the overview panel, mouse clicks, and keyboard shortcuts to navigate large object structures.
Operation
Shortcut
Description
Zoom selected object
Press and hold the SHIFT key and click an object box. The clicked object is maximized to fill the viewing area.
Zoom all
Press ESC
The system zooms out to maximize the display of all structure objects in the viewing area.
Zoom in/out
Rotate the mouse wheel
Rotate the mouse wheel in either direction to zoom the entire viewing area in and out.
Pan
Click and hold the mouse wheel button in the viewing area and drag all objects to the desired location.
You can also click and drag the viewing box in the overview panel (lower-right corner) over different portions of a large object structure.
Find Name or Number
Use the following procedure:
1. Enter a text string into the Find Name or Number field in the top-left corner of Relationship Explorer.
2. Click the find icon or press Enter to highlight all objects with names or number having text that matches the entered text string. The highest object within the expanded structure is repositioned toward the upper-right corner of the display.
3. Press Enter or click the down arrow to reposition the structure to show the next matching object in the upper-right corner. The system finds each object at the same level before moving down to the next lower level. The system refocuses to the first object again after the last object is reached. Reverse the focus order by clicking the up arrow.
