Display
The Display actions change how parts are displayed within the part structure and the number of panes shown in the structure tab.
The following actions are available in the drop-down menu:
Show Occurrences or Hide Occurrences – Click this action to display or hide occurrences. The actions to show or hide depend on what is currently displayed, e.g. when occurrences are hidden the action is Show Occurrences. Each usage occurrence is displayed as a separate row in the part structure pane on the left side of the Structure tab. Usages without occurrences are summarized in one row and marked with the nonoccurrence icon .
*
Each part usage relationship has the potential for a number of occurrences equal to the quantity. However, occurrences are only created when occurrence specific information, such as the reference designator, is added.
For example, a part may be used 6 times in an assembly but only 3 of the usages have occurrence specific information. The part structure will show 3 occurrence rows and 1 summary row for the remaining 3 usages marked with the nonoccurrence icon .
Select All – Selects and highlights all parts displayed in the structure so that other actions may be performed on the selected parts.
*
Parts that are not expanded and visible in the structure are not selected.
Expand All Levels – Select one or more collapsed assembly parts in the structure pane and click to expand all levels recursively.
*
The number of parts that can be displayed is limited by the Expansion Limit system preference. A warning message is displayed when the number of rows set in the preference is reached, and the expansion operation can be allowed to proceed or cancelled. Contact your Windchill system administrator to request a change to the Expansion Limit preference value.
Collapse All Levels – Select one or more recursively expanded assembly parts in the structure pane and click to collapse all levels.
Expand Selected by – Select one or more assemblies in the part structure pane and choose from the following menu choices:
Choices for 1 Level through 5 Levels – Expands the number of levels indicated by your choice.
All Levels – Expands all levels.
n Levels – Enter the number of levels to be expanded in the Expand By Levels window and click OK.
The selected parts are expanded recursively by the selected number of levels.
*
The Expand by operation with the same choices is available from the right-click menu for a selected part or all highlighted parts in the part structure pane. Right-click one of multiple highlighted parts to expand them all. Right-click a part that is not highlighted to expand that single part.
2-Pane Display – Click to show all tabs in a single pane to the right of the structure.
3-Pane Display – Click to show tabs in two panes, one to the right and the other beneath the part structure.
*
You can drag information tabs between panes.
Refresh – Re-displays the part structure preserving the expansion state.
*
The top part is selected when the refresh is complete. A part selection within the structure will not be retained.
