You can autonumber CAD documents with a standard file extension included in both the name and number of the object based on a server-side preference.
Additional Details
This feature is available with the following actions from both the workspace and the commonspace:
• Save As
• Rename
• New CAD Document
• New Part (CAD document only)
The WindchillDrop File Extension from Number and Drop File Extension from Name preferences control the behavior of this feature. For more information, refer to the descriptions for these preferences located in the Windchill Preferences Utility. Previously, autonumbering provided a generated number without a file extension.
