Sort a Generated Parts List Based on a Part List Item Attribute
Product: Windchill Service Parts
Release: 11.0 M030
Benefit
When generating a parts list, you can order the items in the resulting parts list by the value of a specified attribute on its items. This permits the parts list to be sorted in an order other than that of the position of its parts list items.
Additional Details
You can define the attribute on a parts list item that will be used as the sorting marker for generated / updated parts lists. The parts list items will be ordered by the values of this attribute when the parts list is generated, for example from an sBOM.
Identify the attribute on the parts list item that you would like to use to order the items in the resulting parts list, for example Quantity
Create two properties in the XCONF file PartsListItemAttributeMappings.xconf
Specify the sorting attribute
Define the sort order, ascending or desending
Generate the parts list using one of these methods:
Generate from BOM parts using the Generate Parts List or Generate Parts Lists for Selected Parts action
Generate from a generic parts list (template)
Update after changes to source BOM
Parts list items in the resulting parts list are ordered by the value they have for the Quantity attribute.
