Product Hierarchy is used to manage the breakdown of various product families, types and models. The nodes in product hierarchy are linked to service information to deliver context specific content to technicians. Service technicians leverage product hierarchy to navigate to service information in InService using thumbnail navigation and view specifics of a product instance. To extend this capability in Windchill, out-of-the-box support for WTPart Product Hierarchy soft type is provided in this release.
You can use this capability to define product family objects and its relationships in the system, configure and add additional levels in the hierarchy, link product hierarchy to other entities like one or more Service Structures, and so on.
