Service Structures: Auto-Populating Service Structures
Product: Windchill, Windchill Service Information Manager
Release: 11.0 M020
Benefit
Provides the ability to insert existing Information Elements under certain service structures based on rules that are defined as per your business requirement.
Additional Details
The auto-populate functionality uses the custom business rules specified in an XML configuration file to populate service structures. A prerequisite for using this functionality is the creation of an XML rule file in which you specify the filter criteria to collect Information Elements and map them to relevant groups or sections in a service structure. The information on the elements and attributes that can be used to create an XML rule file is provided in Doctype for Autopopulate File. In addition to the XML file, you are required to configure the Configuration file location and Create Group or Section preferences to be able to use this functionality.
You use the Populate Structure option in the context menu of a service structure to add Information Elements to a structure.
