Windchill Quality Solutions: Training Tracking
Product: Windchill, Windchill Quality Solutions
Release: 11.0 M020
Benefit
The new training management function allows customers to efficiently manage and report on training that is related to policies and procedures.
Additional Details
Customers can now create a training matrix by associating roles, groups, and organizations to documents that contain corporate policies and procedures or work instructions. Each standard operating procedure (SOP) or policy document has a matrix with roles, the training status for each user in that role, and the dates for training. Using the report builder master training page, training managers can set monitors for late or incomplete training tasks. They can constantly monitor the training status of their organization by procedure and configure the reports to the needs of their company.
This functionality allows companies to ensure that they are in compliance. They can efficiently manage their training records and easily provide reports for auditors and real-time access for management. Automated workflow tasks can be sent based on changes to documents in the training matrix, making sure that users are trained on the latest policies and procedures.
Training tasks can be assigned to any type of documents that are installed in Windchill.
Documents can have attributes assigned to make it easier to automatically manage tasks:
Training interval—Number of days that the training is valid. If this field is set for 365 days, after a user completes training, the training is valid for that user for a year.
Training interval lead time—Number of days before the training expires and training is restarted on that document. If this field is set to 20 days, then the user receives a training task for that document 20 days before the training record expires.
Training on release—This field determines if new training records are created when a document with training records is released. If this field is set to Yes and a document with training records is revised, all related training records are canceled for the original revision when the revision is released. A new training record is created so users can be trained on the new revision.
Administrators can assign training records to users, groups, or organizations. They can do this from the Participant Administration utility or the info pages for users, groups, and organizations.
Training statuses are updated daily by default.
