Windchill ProjectLink: Deliverable Activity Enhancements

Deliverable activities were introduced in 11.0 M010. The 11.0 M020 release provides several usability enhancements:

• Assigned resources can now add and remove subject objects when tracking work. For more information, see Windchill ProjectLink: Track Work for Deliverable Activities.

• A new tracking policy has been provided to support baselines as subject objects. For more information, see Windchill ProjectLink: Add Baselines to Deliverable Activities.

• The following object types are now supported as deliverable subjects:

• Plan baselines now capture the Tracking Policy attribute for deliverable activities.

• You can now export plans with deliverable activities to Microsoft Project. From Microsoft Project, you can view and modify the tracking policy for the activity before importing the plan back to Windchill ProjectLink.

• Adding subject objects to a deliverable activity has been streamlined. Pre-validation occurs to ensure that only eligible objects appear in the Find Subject Objects For Activity search results. This pre-validation considers both the context of the activity and the tracking policy you have selected. Similarly, if you attempt to paste objects from the clipboard, only eligible objects are added. If the clipboard includes ineligible objects that have been filtered out, an error message appears.

• A new Plan Activities table has been added to the information page of subject objects. To view the Plan Activities table, you must create a new tab and then select Customize > Related Objects > Plan Activities.

This table displays all deliverable activities associated with the object, including scheduling information about each activity. Users with modify permission for an activity can also use this table to remove the association between the object and the plan activity.

• A Deliverables tab has been added to resource assignment information pages. This tab displays the Associated Deliverables table, and only appears when the assignment is for a deliverable activity. From here, assigned resources can view a list of subject objects. If the user has modify permission for the associated activity, they can also remove subject objects.
