The WVS infrastructure can be configured to create multi-fidelity representations during a publish job. Administrator settings and user preferences determine which fidelities a user can open when loading the Multi-fidelity representation into the Creo View client.

The Publish Rules govern how many fidelity instances the CAD adapter generates during the execution of a publish job and dictate a granular set of options for defining different elements of display data for each fidelity instance. When the CAD adapter has finished creating the viewable files from the CAD data, it generates all fidelity files using the viewable files as input. All fidelity files are stored in Windchill and associated to a single Multi-fidelity Representation.

Each fidelity optimization of OL files is stored on a Fidelity subtype instance. Five fidelity subtypes are available by default in the Windchill system, and new fidelity subtypes can be added.

The System Administrator can set default Preferred Fidelity preferences and access control limitations for all users in a domain.
