Benefit
An item in a parts list displays the Default Unit value assigned to the part that is the source of the item.
Additional Details
The Default Unit value for a part describes the unit of measurement for a quantity of the part; for example, each, liters, or meters. It is displayed in the Items tab for a parts list item.
The Service Parts Enable Default Unit Editing preference controls whether the attribute can be edited or is presented in read-only form. If the preference is set to Yes, the Default Unit value can be edited to define a different unit for the part. A change to the value will pass to every parts list in which the part is used.
