Windchill MPMLink: Creating and Managing Standard Control Characteristics

You can now create and manage standard (master) control characteristics from a product Folder or object Information page in Windchill MPMLink. You can create a standard control characteristic using the New Standard Control Characteristic action available on the product Folder page. The result is a Windchill business object. You manage a standard control characteristic using actions such as Check out and Edit and Delete available on the product Folder page (object row right-click menu) as well as on the Details tab Action menu of the control characteristic object Information page.

• As a Windchill administrator, you can customize the list of standard control characteristic types that are available to create in Windchill MPMLink.

• Deletion of standard control characteristic objects is possible only when they are not being referenced by a part, operation, or view.
