Benefit
You can now revise CAD documents and related Windchill parts separately and later move the association to revised object versions using Edit Association or Auto Associate actions. You can also set a preference to have the association moved automatically upon object check in using an Auto Associate matching rule.
Additional Details
• Previously, multiple steps were required to manually move an association as related objects first needed to be disassociated. Manual association updates are now simplified using a single action.
• The Windchill preference Modify Already Associated Parts on Check In (previously named Create Alternate Link on Check In) must be set to True to have the association automatically moved to the object being checked in using a custom Check In action. Otherwise, an overrideable conflict occurs and you are asked to either confirm the association update or maintain the existing association.
