Inserting and Replacing an Existing Part
To add an existing part (that is, a part that already exists in the database) as a child part, use the following procedure:

If you are in draft mode or working in an annotation set, you can also enter data in the table cell. If you are in edit mode, check out the part before this action is available.
1. Select the parent part in the navigation pane on the left.
2. To insert existing, select Selected > Insert > Insert Existing, or click the add icon in the Uses tab.

To replace, select Selected > Replace > Replace with Existing, or click the replace with existing icon in the Uses tab.
or
To replace with an alternate or substitute, select Selected > Replace > Replace with Alternate/Substitute, or click the replace with alternate/substitute icon in the Uses tab.
3. A list of all alternate or substitute parts that have been defined for the part appears. Click the attribute details icon to modify the list that displays. For descriptions of the fields, see Part Attributes.
4. Select a part you want to add to the structure.
5. Click OK.
The newly added part appears in the structure.

The default quantity for the added child part is 1. To increase that quantity, you must edit the Quantity field.
