Part Configurations
A part configuration is the basic building block used to track the as-maintained bill of material of traceable products over their in-service lifetime. A part configuration is essentially a baseline containing all the part versions in an assembly part structure used to assemble a part instance. The part configuration is used to create one or more lot and/or serial numbered copies of the part structure called part instances. The part structure of each part instance can be separately edited as its configuration is changed in the field. For more information on part instances, see Part Instances.
