Resolving Identity Conflicts
Workspace users can detect file name conflicts using the Resolve Identity Conflict action.
1. From the File menu, select Resolve Identity Conflict.
2. The CAD Documents in conflict table displays all CAD documents in the workspace that have the same file name as a document in PDM. The system automatically compares objects with file name conflicts to those in the common space.
3. You can either rename conflicting objects in the workspace context or override the workspace object with the PDM version:
a. Select the checkboxes next to the conflicting objects and click the reuse icon

.
b. All relationships from the workspace object are transferred to the PDM object.
To replace a workspace object with its conflicting PDM object, you must have permission to share the object from PDM to the workspace. You also need permission to delete the conflicting object, modify workspace objects that link to the conflicting object, and modify the conflicting PDM object.
| The Replace action is restricted to CAD parts and formats authored with Creo Parametric that have no dependents. The CAD documents cannot be instances or generics of a family table and they should not be associated with a part. This applies to all CAD tools except MathCAD and Creo Elements Direct Modeling. |
4. After you replace or rename the object, the table is refreshed and the object no longer appears in the conflicting objects table.
