Troubleshooting Using Windchill Method Server Logs
To ensure a successful import process, CAD objects in both the source and target systems must be identical. This means:
• The CAD objects on the target system must be marked as ready for replication.
• The CAD objects on both systems must share the same:
◦ Authoring Application
◦ Document Category
◦ File Name
◦ Number
If these conditions are not met, the import fails with an error. For example, if a CAD object on the target system is not marked for replication, the import may fail due to a mismatch in the File Names.
You can view error messages and related details in the Event Management utility in Windchill. However, when the failure is due to mismatches in attributes like File Name, Authoring Application, Document Category, or Number, the utility may not provide specific error details.
For precise error identification, refer to the Windchill method server logs, which contain detailed descriptions of the errors encountered during import.
