Downloading and Installing Creo View Web
Windchill PTC Solution Installer (PSI) enables installation of Creo View Web on Windchill server. It also provides capability to update Creo View Web to latest supported version independent of Windchill updates.
For installation, download Creo View Web CD Images from the PTC Software Download page. From the PSI, under Select Product from Windchill Visualization, select the Creo View Web checkbox and download the latest compatible version of Creo View Web to the staging area.
Creo View Web is installed with Windchill PTC Solution Installer (PSI) as an Optional Component. When installing Creo View Web you need to consider the different scenarios as specified below:
Installing Creo View Web on New Windchill Environment
1. Under Install Optional Components, go to the Windchill Visualization options and select Creo View Web.
2. PSI asks for the Creo View Web CD image present in the staging area. Select the downloaded version and proceed with the installation steps.
3. After the installation process is complete, the Installation Overview page lists out Creo View Web under the New Installation.
Installing Creo View Web on existing Windchill environment
1. From the PSI, select Update Existing Installation which enables you to install a product to an existing Windchill environment.
2. Select the installation to update. You can also see the existing installed components.
3. Under Install Optional Components, for the Windchill Visualization choose the Creo View Web component. Verify that the product list is accurate and continue with installation.
4. Under Define Settings create the necessary staging area folder and populate them with the Creo View Web product installer.
5. On successful installation, check the Installation Results if it lists out the Creo View Web.
Installing Creo View Web with Windchill Update or Upgrade
If you are upgrading or performing CPS update and do not have Creo View Web installed on the source system, then you must complete the update or upgrade process without selection of Creo View Web. Once update or update process is complete, initiate Windchill PSI to add the new module and follow all the steps mentioned in the section Installing Creo View Web on existing Windchill Environment.
Updating Creo View Web
If Creo View Web is already installed on your
Windchill environment, then you can update to the latest version without any update to
Windchill. For detailed version compatibility matrices refer article
CS74838.
1. Download the desired version of Creo View on Windchill installation staging area.
2. Launch Windchill PSI, and select Install Re-released Components.
3. From the list select Creo View Web.
4. Under Define Settings, select CD image from staging area to proceed for installation.
5. Review the settings under Installation Overview which provides the list of updated installations including the re-installed ones. Verify that the installation is completed successfully.
Validating installation
• After installation of Creo View Web, Windchill PSI shows summary of installed components including Creo View Web.
• Validate successful installation and the version of Creo View Web using the windchill version command on Windchill Shell or by navigating to > > . In both scenarios Windchill version information shows Creo View Web version installed on Windchill server.
Post installation activities
After installation of Creo View Web do the following:
