Preparing to Update the Installation
To prepare for the update, read and understand the updates included in the release, and determine how they may impact your systems. This includes not only the steps that must be performed to install the updates, but also how the updates might affect configurations, site-modified files, customizations, and the end users.

Windchill 13.0.2.0 release onwards, no legacy change link data is allowed. Before performing PSI update, it is mandatory to run Flexible change converter utility and set system to flexible mode on the source windchill setup. This is required to convert the legacy links into the flexible links as no legacy change link data are allowed. With the PSI update, since the codebase is updated to 13.0.2.0 release and the utility cannot be run on 13.0.2.0 release onwards, make sure to take backup of the source Windchill codebase.
Enabling Next Gen UI
When you update to Windchill 13.1.1.0 or 13.1.2.0 or 13.1.3.0, the new Apache configurations required for enabling the Next Gen UI pages are not applied by default. To ensure the Next Gen UI pages work in Windchill, you must enable the new configurations by performing one of the following actions:
If you do not have HTTP Server customizations:
Clear the Preserve HTTP Server configuration files option on the Define Settings page of the PSI during the update.
If you have HTTP Server customizations:
Refer to the "Updating the HTTP Server configuration files" section in Post-Update Actions to apply the missing configurations after the update.
When the Next Gen UI is enabled, the HTTPServer\conf\conf.d\30-app-Windchill-AJP.conf file should include the following entries:
JkMount /Windchill/ui ajpWorker
JkMount /Windchill/ui/* ajpWorker
