Considerations for Importing Redline Parts
When you import redline parts from Microsoft Excel to Windchill PDMLink, consider the following:
• You can import only the existing parts or part versions with open redline.
• An import may fail if:
◦ The parts in the structure have checked out open redlines on the change notice.
◦ The column names do not match the Windchill PDMLink attribute names that you want to specify.
◦ You do not have sufficient authorization to read or modify the parts.
• When you import redline parts, a baseline is not created.
• A new version of the redline part is created when you modify the attribute values of the redline part.
• If you modify the soft attributes of a redline part, the soft attribute definitions must exist in Windchill PDMLink.
