Designing for Service
The focused outcomes of circularity are to extend the existing product’s life, and optimize the end-of-life recovery of the parts and materials. For modular products, the best practice is to derive engineering assets to deliver up-to-date configuration-specific service parts identification, service procedures, and disassembly instructions to the service network. Designing with product end of life processes in mind (designing for service) supports the second theme of circular economy. Windchill Service Information Manager and Windchill Service Parts use a product-centric approach for the creation, management and delivery of the information critical for the safe and effective operation and servicing of a product.
