Export and Import of Additional Attributes
By default, Creo Packages imports and exports the metadata attributes of CAD documents, such as file name, life cycle state, and version information. You can configure Creo Packages to also import and export the following Windchill attributes:
Name
Number—The number must not conflict with the number or name attribute of other CAD documents in the target system.
Organization ID—The globally unique organization identifier, such as a CAGE code or DUNS number, associated with the object. Depending on the settings at your site, this attribute may not be applicable.
The organization ID uses the following format: [coding system]$[unique identifier]. The coding system values are as follows:
0141—CAGE_CODE
0060—DUNS
0026—ISO6523
Following are three examples of organization IDs: 0141$OrganizationA, 0060$OrganizationB, 0026$OrganizationC
When an object is imported, if an organization with the organization ID of the object is not found, an overridable conflict appears. You can resolve this conflict by creating an organization with the organization ID, or use a SKIP resolution for the warning. If you use a SKIP resolution, the objects are imported without the organization ID.
Attribute on a master CAD document (master IBA)—Attributes for master CAD documents are imported only if they are defined for a CAD document or CAD document master. Otherwise, they are ignored and a warning appears.
CAD document attributes (EPMDocument IBAs) are included with the CAD data, and are therefore not exchanged as additional attributes.
Use Cases
These use cases illustrate file renaming and renumbering cases that are supported.
The following case illustrates file renaming:
1. Create a CAD part called pin.prt on the source system.
2. Use Creo Packages to exchange pin.prt with the target system.
3. Rename pin.prt to pin_1.prt.
4. Create a new CAD part named pin.prt on the source system.
5. Use Creo Packages to exchange both CAD parts.
The following case illustrates renumbering:
1. Create a CAD part with number pin.prt on the source system.
2. Use Creo Packages to exchange pin.prt with the target system.
3. Renumber pin.prt to pin_1.prt.
4. Create a new CAD part with number pin.prt.
5. Use Creo Packages to exchange both CAD parts.
