Managing the AML/AVL
You access the AML/AVL page by going to the information page of an OEM part and selecting the AML/AVL tab.
The AML/AVL table shows manufacturer and vendor parts that are associated with a selected OEM part within a particular sourcing context. Information about the OEM part is listed at the top of the page. The AML/AVL table lists supplier parts by their number, along with the name of a manufacturer or vendor and the sourcing status of that part. The sourcing status indicates whether a manufacturer or vendor part is approved, preferred, or is not used for a particular OEM part.
By default, the AML/AVL table shows both manufacturer and vendor parts. To filter the content of the table, choose AML or AVL from the list.
The AML/AVL table also supports creating and saving views which can be used to set column display for the table and enables sorting.
For more information on creating custom views, see
Customizing Table Views.
Once a custom view is created, you can select it from the View drop-down list.
Only attributes defined on the sourcing relationship are available for specifying column display for the AML/AVL table.
For more information on adding attributes to a type, see
Creating a New Attribute.
You can use alias attributes to map the attribute value on the sourcing relationship to an attribute value on a supplier part or supplier. For example, if you want to show the attribute value of the state of a manufacturer part in the AML/AVL table, you can create an alias attribute on the sourcing relationship and add the following mapping:
manufacturerPartReference^com.ptc.windchill.suma.part.ManufacturerPartMaster~
masterReference@com.ptc.windchill.suma.part.ManufacturerPart~state.state
In the example above, com.ptc.windchill.suma.part.ManufacturerPart is the internal name of the supplier part type (manufacturer part), and state.state is the internal name of the State attribute on the manufacturer part.
If you want to show the attribute value of LocNumber defined on a manufacturer, you can create an alias attribute on the sourcing relationship and add the following mapping:
manufacturerPartReference^com.ptc.windchill.suma.part.ManufacturerPartMaster
~organizationReference^wt.org.WTOrganization~organizationReference@com.ptc.
windchill.suma.supplier.Manufacturer~LocNum
In the example above, com.ptc.windchill.suma.supplier.Manufacturer is the internal name of the manufacturer type, and LocNum is the internal name of the location number attribute defined on the manufacturer.
The AML/AVL table lists parts for a specific sourcing context. To change the sourcing context, use the Sourcing Context drop-down list.
For more information, see
Alias Attribute Mapping.
