Fast Track Part Request Workflow
Occasionally, a Design Engineer already has the required part, but must follow a standard procedure for requesting and approving new parts. In such cases, a part request can follow a Fast Track process and skip the implementation steps. The Fast Track part request process is managed by following the Fast Track workflow.
A typical Fast Track workflow includes the following steps:
1. Design Engineer: A new OEM part is created in Windchill.
2. Design Engineer: A manufacturer part is created and added to the AML of the OEM part.
3. Design Engineer: A part request is created and the part requirements are specified.

To use the Fast Track workflow, after creating the part request, the Design Engineer must edit it to add the OEM part as the resultant part.

4. Design Engineer: The part request is submitted using a workflow task associated with this part request.
5. Component Engineer: The part request is received with the resultant part. After the proposed part is researched and found to be acceptable, the PR Review process is completed with the Fast Track option. This allows the AML creation and the implementation steps of the process to be skipped.
6. Component Engineer: The part request is set as Ready for Use and the required part is released.
