Object Initialization Rule Setting

The change task inherits the security label value settings from the change notice. These values can be changed before completing the creation of the change task.

• The rule is set on the change task object type.
• The rule has attribute constraints defined.
The change task displays the security labels and initial value settings as specified by the change task object initialization rule. For example, the value may be hidden, read-only, or editable. The change task object initialization rule settings override any security label values that would otherwise be inherited from the change notice.

• The rule is configured to hide the security label value on the object creation window or to provide a server generated value on the object creation window.
• A rule is not set on the change task object type.
The change task displays the null security label value and does not inherit security label value settings from the change notice. These values can be changed before completing the creation of the change task.
Object initialization rule settings may differ for each configured security label. Therefore, a combination of the cases listed in the table could occur when creating a change task. For example, one security label value setting could be inherited from the change notice while another is populated due to an object initialization rule.
