Recursive Parts
Sometimes, a part may need to be further processed for repackaging or rebranding purposes. You may need to rework or repair the part by dismantling it. In a BOM structure, you can add such part under itself, or under a Made From part below it, using the Made From action. The resulting structure is called as the recursive material structure.
This example depicts a BOM structure for repairing a computer mouse to replace a broken scroll wheel. To do so, you need to dismantle the computer mouse, remove the existing scroll wheel, add a new scroll wheel, and then assemble the mouse. In the structure, the ComputerMouse part shown on top represents an instance of a broken mouse. The ComputerMouse and ScrollWheel parts shown at the bottom of the structure depict an instance of the computer mouse with a replaced scroll wheel.
