Pasting a Resource as a New Instance
A new resource can be created by copy an existing resource and pasting it as a new instance in a different location. When a resource is created using the Paste as Resource Instance action, a duplicate of the source object is created, but the view of the newly created object is changed to the view of the target location. The name of the duplicate object is the same as the source object, and an equivalent compatibility link between the source and the new duplicate object is created.
To create a compatibility link between a resource type and resource instance:
1. Select the resource to be duplicated.
2. Select the location to which the new resource is to be created.
3. Click Paste as Resource Instance.
4. Use the dialog box to change the new resource’s name, number, view, and location, as needed.
