For more information on the Category that you can designate for a resource, see Working with Resource Categories. The type of category that you designate for a resource is important if you intend to use the graphical representations available on Work Center Allocation sub-tab of the Structure tab in a process plan. For more information see Viewing and Working with a Plant Layout.

6. Click OK.
Creating Occurrences
The system can create occurrences for resources in the Manufacturing Resource Browser in the following scenarios :
• When you add a new resource using the Insert New or Insert Existing action.
• When you paste a resource to create a resource structure.
The creation of occurrences for resources depends on the value that is set in the Automatically Create Occurrences for New Usages preference. This preference controls whether occurrences are automatically created with new usages. When set to Yes, the default, inserting new or existing resources in Manufacturing Resource Browser automatically creates occurrences.
