Tutorial 3: Selectively Generating Mass mBOMs
You can selectively generate variant mBOMs from a particular variant eBOM. Select the following entities in the BOM Transformer and then click the 
Generate Downstream BOMs action available in the middle pane toobar:

• A relevant generic mBOM in the downstream view
After the Generate Downstream BOMs action is complete, the system generates variant mBOM which is relevant to the selected variant eBOM.

Consider that the following structure is present in the BOM Transformer:
• Two variant eBOMs, V0000000009 and V0000000010, are present in the upstream view. These two variants are present under the Similar part.
• A generic mBOM 00000000002 is present in the downstream view. The requirement is to generate variant mBOM from a particular variant eBOM. That is, you can selectively generate the variant mBOMs for a particular variant eBOM. Perform the following steps:
1. Select the variant eBOM V0000000010 in the upstream view.
2. Select the generic mBOM 00000000002 in the downstream view.
3. In the middle pane toolbar of the BOM Transformer, click the Generate Downstream BOMs action. The Generate Mass Downstream BOMs dialog box opens.

4. In the View Upstream Parameters step, the record of the selected variant eBOM V0000000010 appears.
5. Click Next. The Set Downstream Parameters step appears.
6. Click Finish. The Generate Mass Downstream BOMs dialog box closes. The relevant variant mBOM V0000000010 appears in the downstream view.
Additional Information
• You can also select multiple variant eBOMs in the upstream view of the BOM Transformer and launch the Generate Downstream BOMs action. In this case, you can select multiple variant eBOMs in the upstream view, relevant generic mBOMs in the downstream view and launch the Generate Downstream BOMs action. The system creates multiple variant mBOMs in the downstream view for the selected variant eBOMs.
