Checking In Objects
When you are ready to place a new object into the Windchill database, or you have completed modifying the working copy of a checked-out object and are ready to remove your lock on the object, you check the object into the database.
When an object is checked in, the system assigns it the next iteration. In the case of a newly created object, the system creates the first iteration. The modified object information becomes available to other Windchill users and is also available for checkout by others (unless you elect to keep the object checked out after the checkin).
The check-in process can be accomplished in several ways:
• From the Creo Parametric user interface using either Auto Check In or Custom Check In.
• Using the Check In page that is accessible from the workspace in the Creo Parametric browser. These different check-in options are explained in the following topics.
