Creating and Editing New Table Views
Throughout Windchill, you can customize the table views using Customize from the table view’s drop-down list. The Customize View List window appears when you click Customize. Use the following procedure to create new table views as well to edit table views:
1. From the
Customize View List window, click the new view icon
.
The
New View window appears. If you want to edit an existing view, click the edit icon
for the respective view. The
Edit View window appears.
| The New View and Edit View windows work in the same way. New or edited table views that you create are saved and can be reused in future sessions. |
2. In the Set Name window, enter the name and description for the view.
Name is mandatory field. Select the
Show in current view list checkbox if you want the view to appear in the
Pick a View list. Depending on your access rights, you can share the view with all users, members of organization, or members of a context by selecting the
Share with checkbox. Refer to
Sharing Table Views for more information.
3. Click Next to choose the type of objects for the respective views like CAD Document, Dynamic Document, and so on.
Select the respective checkbox to choose the object type and click Next.
a. Under Set Filters, set the filters for the different objects. Select an object type from the Object Type menu. Add the Criteria from the list and click Add to include it in the Filter Criteria table. Set the Operator and Value fields to filter your criteria and click Next.
b. Under Set Column Display, select the columns you want to display in the respective view from the Available Columns box, and click Add. This field lists all the available attributes for the object types. From the Selected Columns you can set the order for the columns the way you want them to be displayed.
4. Click Next to sort the columns.
In the Set Sorting step, set the sorting order for the column and the mode.
5. Click Finish. The view is created or modified..
