Associating Processing Resources with a Standard Control Characteristic

You can associate one or more processing resources with a standard control characteristic. You can also associate one or more parts as processing resources with a standard control characteristic.

To associate one or more processing resources with a standard control characteristic:

1. Right-click on a standard control characteristic and select

View Information. The information page of the standard control characteristic opens.

2. Click the Related tab.

3. Browse to the Processing Resources section.

4. Browse to the Processing Resources section.

5. Click

Add Existing. The Processing Resources dialog box opens.

6. Enter valid text in the Keyword field and click Search. The results of the search are returned at the bottom of the window.

7. Select the desired processing resources, and click OK. The processing resources information appears in the Processing Resources section, and the processing resources are associated with the standard control characteristic. The system checks out the standard control characteristic.

You can also associate processing resources or parts as processing resources with a standard control characteristic using the

Allocate Resource action in the Processing Resources tab of the Process Plan Browser.

Available Actions in the Processing Resources Section

You can view, add, change, or remove processing resources associated with a standard control characteristic. The following table explains the actions available for the Processing Resources section under the Related tab:

Action	Description
Add Existing	Associate one or more existing processing resources with the standard control characteristic.
Remove Selected	Remove the selected associated processing resources.
Copy Selected Object	Place the selected processing resources on the clipboard.
Paste	Paste the processing resources in the selected location.
