Configuring Windchill File Vaults to Use Amazon EFS

This section explains the steps required to configure Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Windchill to use of Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) when Windchill is running in AWS.

Configuring AWS

1. Create an EFS file system in your AWS account. For detailed steps, refer to the AWS documentation on Creating an Amazon EFS file system.

2. Obtain the name of the EFS file System and its associated mount targets.

3. Mount the Amazon EFS file system onto the EC2 instance.

Configuring Windchill

1. Create the vault and its root folder.

2. Mount the root folder to EFS file path. Ensure to select File System Based as the Mount Type when mounting the root folder.
