Clipboard | Includes the Copy action that allows you to copy selected parts from the part configuration structure to the Windchill clipboard. Copied objects can be pasted into other operations as desired. | ||||||
Viewing | Contains actions that change the information displayed in part configuration structures. Show/Hide allows you to select related information to display in the part structure. Select one or more parts in the structure pane and click the Show/Hide icon to display the Show/Hide Related Information window. From this window you can select: • Documents • CAD Documents • Replacement Parts • Distribution Targets (with Windchill ESI installed) Click OK to see the related objects displayed directly beneath the parts in the part structure.
The Views icon provides the ability to change the columns displayed in the structure pane. Select a previously defined view from the drop-down list or create a new view using Manage Structure Views. For more information, see Customizing Table Views. The Display icon provides the ability to change how parts are displayed within the part structure. The following actions are available in the drop-down menu: • Show Occurrences or Hide Occurrences – Click this action to display or hide occurrences. The actions to show or hide depend on the currently display, for example, when occurrences are hidden the action is Show Occurrences. Individual usage occurrences are displayed as a separate row in the part structure pane on the left side of the Structure tab.
• Select All selects and highlights all parts displayed in the structure so that other actions can be performed on the selected parts.
• Refresh – Re-displays the part configuration structure showing the base part and the first level child parts. The Sourcing Contexts menu allows the sourcing context to be changed and display supplier part numbers in place of the original equipment manufacturer numbers. This menu only appears when Windchill Supplier Management is installed. | ||||||
Add To | Contains actions that add selected parts in the structure to packages or projects. Add to Package – Adds a selected part plus collected objects to an existing package. For more information, see Adding Content to a Baseline Add to Project – Adds one or more selected parts plus collected objects to an existing project. Tools | Click the Compare icon to compare two part configurations. For more information, see Comparing Part Configurations. | ||||||
Filter | The Repopulate action updates an existing part configuration with part versions selected by a modified configuration specification filter. For more information, see Repopulating a Part Configuration. | ||||||
Reports | The Export action provides the ability to export part configuration structure information to your workstation in the file formats contained in the drop-down menu. Use the following procedure to export part configuration structure information: 1. Expand the part configuration structure to display the branches you wish to be included in the exported file.
2. Click the export list to file icon and select a file format from the drop-down menu. 3. You will be prompted to open or save the exported file by your browser. The prompt you receive depends on the browser that you use.

A part configuration structure may use a traceable child part that will allocate a part instance. In this situation the part master icon is displayed. |
