Setting Part Configuration Specifications
The Workspace preferences enable you to specify a default Part Filter for the workspace actions, in the scenarios like the following ones:
If only parts are selected for a workspace action, the Part Filter is used to choose the version of the parts to add to the workspace.
To determine whether the part versions in the workspace are out- of- date with the workspace configuration.
To get the version of a the CAD Document’s dependents when the workspace’s preference option Dependency Processing Type is set to Part Structure.
To set the part configuration specifications:
1. From the workspace actions click Edit Preferences to go to  Edit Workspace Options for workspace: <workspace name>  page. Optionally, under My Workspaces  click the Edit Preferences icon    for the workspace.
2. From the  Edit Workspace Options for workspace: <workspace name> page go to Part Filter controls. Click the Edit Filter icon Edit Filter icon.
3. On the Configuration Specification, select the type and add complete product configurations to display the part version for each structure node. Select from the following types of configuration specifications:
Latest
As Matured
Baseline
Change
Unit Effectivity
Date Effectivity
Promotion Request

4. Hover the mouse pointer on or click the Current Filter icon to see a summary of the filters currently applied to the structure. For more information, see Viewing a Structure’s Current Filter Properties
5. Click OK  to save your settings and return to your active workspace.

If your administrator has already created a filter that is commonly used, you can click Saved Filters icon Saved Filters to select the saved filter and reuse it in the workspace.
