Interpreting the Status of Imported Objects using Workspace and Commonspace Content Status Column and Status Message Column
Windchill integration for Creo Parametric intelligently identifies the status of the imported objects and allows the user to perform the following actions:

In the following list, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) PLM system is Windchill and the supplier system could be either Windchill, another PLM or PDM system, or local file system (no PLM or PDM system) for CAD model storage.

• Determine whether an object being imported to Windchill previously originated from the same Windchill (OEM system).
• Determine whether the object being imported has been saved outside Windchill (OEM PLM system) since it was last exported.

You can avoid unnecessary saves in Creo Parametric by setting the config.pro option “save_objects” to ’changed’. The default value of “save_objects” is ’changed_and_specified’.

• Determine whether the object that exists in Windchill has been changed in the supplier’s system since it was last exported.
• Reconcile changes to the objects during the import process.
• Reflect accurate Workspace Modified status after one or more imports.
This intelligent identification of status of imported objects simplifies the workflow between the OEM Windchill PLM system and the supplier system.
When you import objects to workspace, on the Specify Options page (in Windchill), in the Objects List table, the “Workspace content status” and “Status Messages” columns display icons, which indicate the status of the imported objects or CAD documents. • “Workspace content status” column: (Active workspace only) Displays object local workspace status icon (if applicable).
• “Status Messages” column: Displays status message icon and text message in tooltip (if applicable).
