Publish Document
Publish Document is the process by which Windchill ESI services create and update documents in a target enterprise system. When publishing a Revision Controlled object such as a part, a process plan or a resource, the related documents are published to the same distribution target (or targets) that the Revision Controlled object is associated to.
Windchill allows assigning EPMDocument as well as WTDocument objects to Revision Controlled objects. Windchill ESI services support publishing both types of documents. Windchill also allows documents to be assigned to other documents in a document structure. Windchill ESI services can be configured to navigate the document structure to find related documents – this however, is applicable only to a structure composed of CAD documents.

If documents are associated to a sequence or to an operation, these are published to the target (or targets) that the process plan holding the sequence or the operation is associated to.

Windchill ESI services allow associating distribution targets to a document, and also support publishing such documents. In such a case, the document gets published to those targets that are associated to it.
