Rules for Using Upload and Check In (NX)
Consider these rules for using Upload and Check In with part family objects:
• To check in the changes that you made to the part family, you must first save it to a workspace.
• If you want to check in a modified member of a part family, you must also check in the generic and all instances.
• New instances are always collected and included on checkin.
• Upon checkin, instances that you deleted from the part family while editing the generic are collected and removed from the workspace.
• Attempting to upload or check in any part family member that is not checked out creates a conflict. You can resolve the conflict using the options in the conflict user interface.
• If you have modified an instance and the changes are non-file-based (for example, changes to the association of the instance), you can check in this change.
