Registering and Accessing Drawing Frames in Windchill (Creo Elements/Direct Modeling)
Any Windchill user who is a member of a library can use the drawing frames stored within that library. However, to actually see standard annotation drawing frames that have already been saved to Windchill listed in the Sheet Frame drop-down menu within the annotation Create Drawing window within , you must first register those frames with Creo Elements/Direct Modeling. You do this by modifying your uwgm_customize_2d file.
To set up drawing frame usage and register drawing frames with Creo Elements/Direct Modeling:
1. If necessary, speak with your Windchill administrator and arrange to have yourself added to the Member or Library Manager group for the Windchill library where the drawing frames are stored.
2. Modify the uwgm_customize_2d file located on your client system at:
[Modeling Install Directory\\personality\sd_customize\UWGM
Using the following format, add a line to this file for each drawing frame that you wish to register.
(oli:sd-uwgm-register-frame "Name to be shown in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling" "Actual filename of the drawing frame in Windchill")
For example: (oli:sd-uwgm-register-frame "WGM A0" "FRAME A0.mi")
|
The following frames are already registered by default.
• (oli:sd-uwgm-register-frame "WGM A4" "FRAME A4.mi")
• (oli:sd-uwgm-register-frame "WGM A3" "FRAME A3.mi")
• (oli:sd-uwgm-register-frame "WGM A2" "FRAME A2.mi")
• (oli:sd-uwgm-register-frame "WGM A1" "FRAME A1.mi")
• (oli:sd-uwgm-register-frame "WGM A0" "FRAME A0.mi")
|
3. Save the file.
The newly registered drawing frames appear in the Sheet Frame drop-down menu when you create a new drawing.
|
If the Windchill Workgroup Manager module is currently running, you must deactivate/reactivate it to see the newly registered drawing frames appear in the Sheet Frame drop-down menu.
