Setting up the Regulatory Submission Table Data
You can customize the display of regulatory submission table data from Site > Utilities > Type and Attribute Management. The Table Data type is available in the navigation pane of the Manage Types window. By default, the parent Table Data type is not instantiable. PTC recommends that you create instantiable subtypes so that you can select these subtypes when editing a regulatory submission. The Set Table Data tab and its toolbar actions of the Edit Regulatory Submission window are displayed only if association rule is enabled for the type that you want to use, and the type is set to Yes for the Instantiable property. A user can edit an existing table data only if the relevant association rule is enabled. All instantiable subtypes of the table data for a regulatory submission are displayed in the Type dropdown list while creating a table data.
Steps to Set up the Table Data
To create a subtype of Table Data, complete the following steps:
1. Click Table Data to open the table data type information page.
2. On the top left of the page, click Actions > New Subtype. The New Subtype window opens.
3. Specify an internal name and select a value for the Instantiable attribute. Specify Instantiable as Yes to display this subtype in the Windchill user interface for editing a regulatory submission. Optionally, specify values for other attributes.
4. Click OK to return to the Table Data type information page.
5. On the top left of the page, click Actions > Edit to edit the subtype.
6. Add information for the table data in the following tabs, as required:
Attributes tab — Create the attributes as a global type. The attributes are available for use from the edit details action in the Set Table Data.
Layouts tab — Create a layout for the table data and add the required attributes to the layout.
You can use a layout created for the parent table data or create a layout for a subtype table data. For a subtype using the inherited layout, all information is inherited from the parent layout to the subtype layout. Select the Table Data Layout screen type to see the attributes for the table data in the Available Attributes pane. Specify a name and select the following screen types to create a layout:
Create New and Edit — Create a layout for editing table data from the Edit Regulatory Submission window.
Table Data Layout screen type — Create a layout that displays the attributes in the Data column of the Table Data Details table. PTC recommends that you list all the attributes in a single column of the Table Data Layout layout.
Cascading Attributes tab — (Optional.). Select cascading attributes.
7. Click Done. The subtype is displayed under the parent type in the Manage Types pane.
Association Rules for the Table Data
You can use association rules to configure relationships between the table data and regulatory submission types. Association rules define relationships when linking regulatory master objects in the Set Table Data tab of the Edit Regulatory Submission window. The Set Table Data tab and its toolbar actions of the Edit Regulatory Submission window are displayed only if the association rule is enabled for the type that you want to use, and the type is set to Yes for the Instantiable property. A user can edit an existing table data only if the relevant association rule is enabled.
The supported cardinality for the table data is 1:1 or 1:many.
Site and organization administrators can create, modify, and view association rules using the Association Rules table. For more information on the association rules table, see Association Rules Table.
For information on defining association rules, see Define Association Rules.
