Viewing Alternates and Substitutes
Use the Replacements tab to define alternate or substitute parts.
An alternate replaces a part in every product structure, while a substitute replaces a part in one specific usage only.
*
In the Alternates table, when the Two-Way column displays True, not only is that part an alternate for the part in the navigation pane, the part in the navigation pane is also an alternate for the part in the Alternates table.
When working with the Part Structure Browser, the Replacements tab is not available when an advanced configurable part is selected. For more information, see Windchill Options and Variants Capabilities.
