Displaying Illustrations in Work Instructions
You can create an illustration for an operation in the Process Plan Browser. You can display the illustrations in the generated work instructions based on your business requirements.
Once you create an illustration in the Process Plan Browser, a document appears in the References Documents table of the Documentation tab. By default, the name of the illustrated document starts with DOC_PPB_MPM. For example, DOC_PPB_MPM_0000000003.
The system allows you to create an illustration for an operation in the Process Plan Browser and Advanced Manufacturing Resource Browser. The Originated From column displays the browser's name from which you create the illustration. This column does not appear by default. To add this column, edit the table view using the table edit icon, and then click Manage Table Views.
The display of the illustration in the work instruction depends on the value you set in the Show in Work Instructions column. The default value is Yes. When set to Yes, the illustration is displayed in the work instruction. When set to No, the illustration is not displayed in the work instruction.
Key Points
If you are in the Process Plan Browser, you can set the value in the Show in Work Instructions column for illustrations created using the Advanced Manufacturing Resource Browser. Similarly, if you are in the Advanced Manufacturing Resource Browser, you can set the value in the Show in Work Instructions column for illustrations created using the Process Plan Browser. The entities for which the value is set to Yes are displayed in the work instruction.
You can create a reference document using the New Illustration action. You can copy a reference document associated with an operation to other operations. Use the Copy action available in the References Documents section of the Documentation tab to copy a reference document. The reference document is visible in the work instruction if its value is set to Yes in the Show in Work Instructions column.
*
The operation from which you are copying the reference document and the operation to which you are pasting the document can belong to the same or different process plan.
A link exists between an operation and a reference document. Attributes can be present on this link. The system carries forward link information only when you copy a document from one operation to another operation in the same process plan.
