Importing and Exporting Change Objects with Change Associations
Change management objects with change associations can be imported and exported.
If you are importing and exporting a combination of legacy and flexible change links, Windchill must be in Mixed mode. For information on setting the mode, see Flexible Change Link Conversion.

Export Flexible Change Objects
You can export change management objects associated with other change management objects through change associations.
The exported data includes the following:
The status indicating the change management object is a change association object
Any process links associated with the change management object
Any reference links associated with the change management object

Import Flexible Change Objects
You can import change management objects associated with other change management objects through change associations.
The following import scenarios are supported:
The import user interface
The replication of content from a source Windchill system into a target Windchill system
Loading data from another system for the purpose of data migration
Import data includes the following:
The status indicating the change management object is a change association object
Any process links associated with the change management object
Any reference links associated with the change management object
The following rules apply:
The target Windchill system is in Mixed or Flexible mode.
If your import data includes a combination of flexible and legacy links, Windchill must be in Mixed mode.
Import data can be imported even if it does not match the current change management association rules in the target system.

Import and Export Change Objects Associated with Legacy Links
Change management objects associated with legacy links can be imported and exported.
Windchill must be in Legacy or Mixed mode to accept imported legacy links.
The import and export data includes the following:
The status indicating the change management object is a legacy link object
Any legacy links associated with the change management object

Manage Change Objects After Import
Change management objects associated with other change management objects can be managed properly after being imported.
Imported change management objects defined with a change association status can be managed according to the defined association rules.
Imported change management objects defined with a legacy link status can be managed according to the existing legacy rules.
Change management objects replicated into a target system remain read-only.
