Save Modified Instances (SOLIDWORKS)
The Save command in SOLIDWORKS can also save the generic and the active instance. However, with the Save Modified Instances command, you can select specific instances to save.
The
Save Modified Instances command is only active when the
Independently Modify Instances preference is set to
Yes, and the active
SOLIDWORKS model contains Configurations that have been exposed to
Windchill; otherwise, the command will be greyed out. In
SOLIDWORKS, select > to access this command. See
Independently Modifying Instances for more information.

• The Save command in SOLIDWORKS saves the generic and the active instance only when the Independently Modify Instances preference is set to Yes and the active instance is managed.
• If the files are checked in, clicking Save opens the Conflicts dialog box, which lists the generic and the active instance.
After clicking OK, only the generic and the active instance are saved, and other instances are not affected.
