Security Labels and Visualization
Visualization publishing jobs are executed based on the credentials of the user initiating the publish action as well as the publishing user mentioned in auth.properties if File-Sync mode is enabled. Only objects to which the user has access are published. For publishing to succeed, the user must be an authorized participant for any security labels set on the object or objects being published. If a structure, such as a part or document structure, is being published, the user initiating the publish job must be authorized for all objects in the structure.
Markups automatically receive the same security label as their associated viewable object. If the security label on the viewable object are changed, the security label on the associated markups are automatically changed to match the security label on the viewable object.
A representation inherits the security labels from the object it is representing, known as the representable object. When a representation is derived from an object, it receives the same security label values as the object that it is derived from. When the security label is changed on the derived from object, the security label for the representation is automatically changed to match the security label for its derived from object. You can manually update the security label on a representation using the Edit Security Labels action available from the right-click actions menu.
If a representation is derived from one object, but is copied to another object, it is no longer considered derived from the original object. The representation gets its security label settings from the object that it is now representing.
If a representation is not directly derived from an object, then the security label for the representation is set to the security label of the object it is representing. When the security label on that representable changes, then the security label for the representation is automatically updated.
