The Change Object Templates Only preference controls the propagation of the Name attribute value when creating:
• A change management object from an upstream change management object
• A change management object from a change management object template
Set the preference to:
• Do Not Propagate Name: Does not propagate the name
• Change Management Objects Only: Propagates the name from an upstream change management object
• Change Object Templates Only: Propagates the name from a change management object template
• Change Management Objects and Change Object Templates: Propagates the name from both
The default is Change Management Objects and Change Object Templates.

Starting with Windchill 12.1.2.0, the property wt.change.propagateName is removed, and a new preference Propagate Name Attribute is added. In previous releases, this property controlled the propagation of the name attribute value of a change object.

|
Administrators can customize the propagation logic by extending and registering the delegate ChangeItemComplexityDelegate.

|
The external change objects can be propagated to the Affected Objects table of a change request, problem report and variance. The local change objects can be propagated to all downstream change objects.
