Loading Recursive Data in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling
When a recursive or circular reference data is created in Windchill, it can be loaded in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling by setting the Windchill Workgroup Manager preference load.recursive.data to Yes in the wgmclient.ini file. For more information on the preference, refer to Frequently Used Preferences in the wgmclient.ini File.
*
Avoid setting this preference to Yes as there may be impact on performance. PTC recommends that you use this preference only when there are datasets with recursive references and you want to open the dataset from Windchill.
When you try to load the recursive or circular reference data, an error message is displayed. After you click OK on the error dialog, the parent of such data is loaded in partial mode in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
You can see the list of recursive reference models at these locations:
Conflict Management — In the Event Management window, click the warnings icon . This opens the Conflict Management window where you can see the complete list of recursive reference models.
Event Management — In the Event Management window, click view information . This opens the Event Information window that shows the list of recursive reference models in the Affected Object table.
If the loaded data has recursive or circular references below it, the PDM actions in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling will not work. You can delete the partially loaded data in the session and work with rest of the data using PDM Actions.
*
The current data loading in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling allows the recursive or circular reference data related to containers only.
